Internet allows DECES.CH to forward rapidly a high quality mortuary information. But at the same time "Internet" sets a basic problem related to privacy. How do we guarantee the respect of the privacy to the persons mentionned on line ? We are very much concerned by this problem. Therefore we have created our nethics based on respect.
WE RESPECT
To publish a mortuary announcement being a personal and intimate matter which implies respect and discretion. It wouldn’t be suitable to publish personal messages of sympathy to relatives on the web. Therefore we offer the family and relatives the possiblity to receive such messages directly by email.
WE PROTECT
In order to protect the privacy of the persons appearing in the mortuary announcements on DECES.CH, such announcements can only be read for 10 days. Moreover we are proud to have created a robot that erases files. In this way, only actual data can be read on line.
WE CONDEMN
We condemn the websites that keep obsolete mortuary informations or that offer public homages on line. Those "webpages cemetaries" or "mortuary blogs" are most of the time kept active, the family and relatives obviously not knowing about it, for commercial reasons .
